Welcome back!
T-Bone asked:
Is this not the problem with socialist countries like Russia, where doctors and nurses have to resort to prostitution to earn enough money to live, what say you?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWho said anyone was going to do that? Besides, where docs and nurses are concerned, most HMO’s pretty much control how much they make already.
The design of one’s invective against the government will be of better quality
Government is not setting wages.
wow, catch up with the times.
russia is not a socialist country.
i’m going to go way out on a limb here, but i’ll bet you can’t cite a source for your prostitution statement…
I think we should learn from the problems that Russia experienced. I don’t know if government should set the wage. But education should be free for all because everything changes so quickly. It’s better to have people doing something and inspire more creativity. The main problem is that we have become too short term focused and we need to be more long term focused. We need to look outside ourselves. It’s good for the country and our souls.
Education is always a good thing.
I’d also like an address for this doctor’s office with the prostitute nurses, if you don’t mind…
You can move to a capitalist country and have a great career!! oh wait….um……er…..never mind.
I say the Education system needs a complete overhaul and I am not opposed to allowing children to have more options besides “free” public education.
i can only assume you mean higher education- college and university. and, i don’t know anyone that is advocating that one = the other.
i believe that you should get paid based on your abilities. i believe that there does need to be a redistribution of wealth as in one guy in a company makes billions and the thousands of workers at the bottom make $7/hr. yes, i understand and completely agree that a CEO or CFO or whatever should make significantly more than the factory/ warehouse workers. however, i think the gap is, in most cases, simply outrageous.
does this make me a socialist?
lol
I guess we’ll never know as nobody has ever suggested such a thing. Someone did suggest some form of system where all Americans can be assured of a good education up through the university level at the working class price….but of course that would be ’socialism’. I mean why bother to pay for an educated population when our trans-national corporate godfathers can import all the human capital it wants from other countries. That keeps their taxes low while some other sucker pays their employees education. Sounds like a plan. No kiddin’!
